What you should know
Your team may repeat the blood test and later use ultrasound to check the pregnancy location and development. A rising hCG is useful, but the pattern alone cannot rule out ectopic pregnancy or guarantee a live birth. Ask when the next test or scan is due.
What to ask your care team
“When is my next blood test or ultrasound, and which symptoms need urgent care?”
One important reminder
Severe one-sided pain, shoulder pain, heavy bleeding, or fainting require urgent evaluation even with a positive test.
Before your next visit
Write down your questions. Bring your medicine list and any test results you have. Ask for a plan in writing. If an answer is not clear, ask your team to explain it in a different way.
