What do AMH, FSH, and AFC mean?

These tests help doctors estimate how ovaries may respond to fertility medicine. They do not directly measure egg quality.

What you should know

AMH is a blood test. FSH is often measured early in a cycle. AFC is the number of small follicles seen on ultrasound. Results may help plan a medicine dose or predict egg yield. They cannot tell for certain whether natural pregnancy is possible.

What to ask your care team

“How will these results change my treatment plan?”

One important reminder

A low AMH result alone does not mean you cannot conceive.

Before your next visit

Write down your questions. Bring your medicine list and any test results you have. Ask for a plan in writing. If an answer is not clear, ask your team to explain it in a different way.
