Nausea, vomiting and when it is not normal
Hyperemesis is a different thing from morning sickness.
Nausea and vomiting affect most pregnancies and usually settle by the middle of the second trimester. Treatment exists and works, and there is no medal for enduring it.
Go in, rather than waiting for a visit, if you cannot keep fluids down for a day, if you are losing weight, if you are passing very little urine, or if you feel faint. Severe vomiting can cause dehydration and vitamin deficiency and sometimes needs admission.
A note on being believedNausea in pregnancy is one of the symptoms most often minimized. If you are told it is normal and you know your own body is not coping, say so in numbers: how many times you have vomited, how long since you kept anything down, how much weight you have lost.
